GO TO 2022 ROAD SHOW HOMEPAGE

Road Show 2022: Silicon Valley

Join us on October 26, 2022 for the first ever GreyNoise Roadshow! We’ll be traveling around the country to share the best of GreyNoise in a half-day session covering all things Internet Noise.
Mountain View, CA

Agenda:

2:00–2:30 pm - Introduction to Internet Noise

Presented by Andrew Morris, CEO & Founder of GreyNoise

Andrew will share insights and challenges from operating a huge, shifting, adaptive, distributed sensor network listening to internet background noise and opportunistic exploitation traffic over the past five years. He will cover patterns and unexplainable phenomena we’ve experienced and make recommendations to you on how to prepare the next time the cyber hits the fan.

2:30–3:15 pm - Industry Presentation

Alan Jones – Director of Security Services, Layer 3 Communications

Facilitated by Supriya Mazumdar

Layer 3 Communications will discuss the difficulties and solutions involved in integrating GreyNoise into a proprietary security telemetry pipeline, and explain the value in meeting that challenge.

3:15 pm - Break

3:30–5:00 pm - Threat Hunting and Investigation Workshop

Led by Nick Roy & Nathan Thai

You’re working at a sticker company called “Milk Co.” One of your developers leaves a vulnerable dev environment exposed to the internet. Users at the workshop will play the role of the Security Analyst at “Milk Co.” and have to investigate the alert to understand what happened, decide how they can stop additional attacks quickly, and then do additional investigation into indicators that can be used for hunting.

During this workshop you will learn how to:

  • Investigate incidents to understand what happens after an opportunistic attack is successful
  • Build basic detections based on traffic and malware dropped by attacker
  • Understand GreyNoise data and how to operationalize it

Note: We will be offering CPE certificates as an option for workshop attendees.

5:00–7:00 pm - Happy Hour
